FAQs

how much do you charge?

My Fees are £45 per 50 minute session.

I offer a FREE initial telephone consultation where we can discuss what you want from counselling and whether you would like to work with me.

how many sessions will i need?

I never suggest a certain number of sessions as everyone is completely different.

After our first session it is totally up to you to continue working together.  After this I would suggest to allow 4-6 sessions to give enough time for us to build our professional relationship.  You may feel after this that this is all you need, or it may make you aware that you would like some further sessions.  Its always all totally up to you though.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIRST SESSION?

Our first session is very much a two way process of getting to know one another, in order to establish if we can work together.  We will talk about whats initially brought you to counselling, what you would like to achieve and a brief history of you.  We will go though a therapeutic contract which talks in more detail how the sessions will work.

Where are you located?

My office is based in central Ipswich at the bottom of Christchurch Park and is close to the local bus station and pay and display car parks.

Unfortunately my office does not have disabled access, but I am available for online sessions.

what days are you available?

I currently offer sessions on a TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY between 10am and 5pm

WHAT ABOUT RECORD KEEPING AND CONFIDENTIALITY?

Everything we discuss will be completely confidential. The only time I may need to speak to anyone outside of this is if you were at risk of serious harm.

I keep basic contact details as well as the name of your GP and any medication you may be taking. I make short notes after each session to aid memory.

I am registered with the ICO which means I uphold relevant GDPR guidelines.

When working with young people no details of sessions will be passed on to parents or other professionals unless there is a safeguarding concern or I have the young persons permission.

are you covid-19 safe?

I have had my first Covid-19 vaccination and am due to have my second in a few weeks time.  In face to face sessions I adhere to all government guidelines and update my polices in line with the current easing of lockdown measures.  Your safety is always my primary concern.
